The Plot: At the end of their casual evening together, Emilie (Gayet) rejects Gabriel’s (Cohen) offer of a “kiss without consequences” and proceeds to tell him a story, which unfolds in flashbacks, about the impossibility of indulging your desires without affecting someone else’s life.
THE BUZZ: Distributor Music Box Films orchestrated the success of Tell No One, and, to a lesser extent, OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, so it’s no surprise they are banking on the appeal of Julie Gayet — perhaps more so co-star Virginie Ledoyen (8 Women, The Valet) — to help actor-director Emmanuel Mouret’s first U.S. exposure translate with audiences. I have my eye on his upcoming film, Fais moi plaisir, too.
